LONDON, July 8 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:

Mr Alastair King-Smith has been appointed His Majesty's Ambassador to the Czech Republic in succession to Mr Matthew Field OBE, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr King-Smith will take up his appointment in January 2027.
