LONDON, Sept. 30 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:
Thecharitywasplacedunderstatutory inquiry inJune 2024toinvestigateconcernsabouttrustee electionsandthe charity'sgeneralgovernance.
The Interim Managerappointmentisconsidered by the Commission to bethe mostappropriateand proportionateoptionto address issues within the charityduringits ongoing inquiry.
The interim manager appointed, Mr Khalid Sofi of Lee Bolton Monier-Williams LLP, has specific duties to fulfil,to the exclusion of the trustees. He is tasked with:

Setting up and running a membership recruitment campaign to admit those persons that satisfy the membership criteria in thecharity's governing document, while taking steps to ensure the local community are engaged in the process.

Carrying out a comprehensive review of thecharity's governing document and takingsteps to arrange for the governing document to be amended to ensure it provides thecharity with a workable governing document that is easy to follow and implement.

Holding andfacilitatingan Annual General Meeting (AGM)in order formembers to elect trusteesin accordance withthe provisions of thecharity'sgoverning document.

Following the outcome and review of the AGM, inductingthe new trustees into post.
TheInterimManagerwasappointedin early August.TheCommission'sinquiryintothecharityremainsongoing.
