LONDON, Jan. 26 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:
The FIA Foundation manages and supports an international programme of activities promoting road safety, environmentalprotectionand sustainable mobility, as well as funding motorsport safety research.
TheCommissionhas opened a statutory inquiryto protect the charity's property whilst it investigates concerns that have been raised with it.
Due to the nature of theconcerns, the regulator has issued the charity withan immediatetemporary protectiveOrder.ThisOrder prevents the charityand its trustees fromentering intocertaintransactions withoutthe prior written approval of the Commission.
Scope of the inquiry
The inquiry will examine the extent to which the trustees are complying or havecomplied withtheir legal duties in respect of the administration,governanceandmanagement of the charity, withparticular regardto:

examiningthe relationship between the charity andthe non-charitable organisation Federation Internationale de L' Automobile ("FIA"),and whether any conflicts of interest have been appropriatelyidentifiedand managed,with specific reference to grants awarded by thecharity
*
determiningwhether any of thecharity's property has been or is at risk and totake action to protectsuch property.
Thescope of the inquirymaybe extendedifadditionalregulatory issuesemerge.
It is the Commission'susualpolicy, after it has concluded an inquiry, to publish a report detailing the issues examined, any action taken, and the inquiry's outcomes.
