LONDON, Nov. 6 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:
Militaryfamiliesin Cambridgeshireare set tobenefitfrom the biggest transformation of military housing in more than 50 years,aspart oftheGovernment'sDefence Housing Strategy.
Almost half of the homes in BassingbournBarracksare set tobenefitfrom the new Defence Housing Strategy, installing new heating systems and solar panelsto improve energy efficiency and reduce energybills for families.
The Minister for Veterans and People visited Bassingbourn Barrackstodaytosee first-hand how homes are beingupgraded through this funding,transforming the quality of housing forServing Personnel and their families.
This is made possible following the government's landmarkAnningtonHomes deal earlier this year, which brought 36,000 properties back into public ownership, includingaround 150homes in Cambridgeshire- allowing savings to be reinvested into fixing forces housing.
ServicePersonnelat the Barracks alsospoke to the Ministerabouttheimpact the home upgrades will have on their quality of life and the money they will save on their energy bills.
