About the role
Planning inspectorsdetermineplanning appeals, consideringevidenceand reaching independent, well-reasoned decisions that affect communities across England. As a Band 1 inspector you will:
* work independently from home, with frequent travel for site visits and public hearings, primarily in London and theSouth East
* analyse complex information from a range of sources andidentifythe key issues for consideration
* write clear, authoritative, and well-reasoned decisions within expected timescales
* conduct public hearings into certain appeal proposals followingappropriate training
* progress over time to more complex casework
This is intellectually challenging, varied work with genuine flexibility in how you manage your caseload.
Salary and benefits

Salary: £48,775, rising to £57,893 on completion of training
*
28.97% employer pension contribution
*
25 days annual leave, rising by one day per year to 30 days
*
Home-based working with flexible arrangements
