LONDON, March 30 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:

We are launching a tender to appoint a panel of Independent Experts who will act as a quality assurance mechanism to ensuretheconsistency ofPeer Review Reports and ratings.We intend toenter intothree individual contracts.This initiative is not about recruiting Peer Reviewers. It is focused on appointing Independent Experts to support and oversee the Peer Review Scheme.

The current contract iscoming to an endand we are committed to the Peer Review Scheme as it plays a critical role inmaintainingpublic confidence in the legal aid system.
